On November 6th, the Secretariat of Economy (SE) published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOF), the following information:
• The procedures indicated below should preferably be submitted through the Legal Affairs System for Foreign Investment (https://sajie.economia.gob.mx/):
I. Authorization of the National Commission of Foreign Investments;
II. Authorization for the use of neutral investment
III. Authorization for the establishment of foreign legal entities in the Mexican Republic;
IV. Notice for the establishment of foreign legal entities in the Mexican Republic;
V. Opinion of the National Foreign Investment Commission for the purposes of article 77 of the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law;
SAW. Consultation on foreign investment, and
VII. Request for the granting of an extension to established deadlines, in registration matters, in the Foreign Investment Law or in the Regulations of the Foreign Investment Law and the National Registry of Foreign Investments, requirements or any other provision regarding foreign investment.
In the event that the Legal Affairs System for Foreign Investment is not available for any reason, access to it is not possible or the acknowledgment issued by the System itself is not generated, the interested person may submit the procedure that corresponds to Through the email contacto.sajie@economia.gob.mx on business days within the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., considering the deadlines and formalities established in the applicable regulations.
• Any procedure or communication that is carried out before 9:00 am or after 2:00 pm or on non-business days for the Secretariat of Economy, will be considered carried out on the next business day and hour for all legal purposes. This provision will also be applicable in the case of the procedures that are substantiated through the email account contacto.sajie@economia.gob.mx.
• In all the procedures that are presented through the email account contacto.sajie@economia.gob.mx, an acknowledgment of receipt will be sent to the email address of the sender by means of which the entry folio, date and a string of authenticity characters.
• The Secretariat of Economy will establish the necessary measures to guarantee the integrity and confidentiality of the information generated in connection with the procedures managed through the Legal Affairs System for Foreign Investment, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
