Sec 301 investigation on China’s maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding sectors initiated

The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) initiated a Section 301 investigation on China’s acts and policies relating to their efforts to dominate the maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding sectors.

The investigation is the result of a petition received by five labor unions, who allege that China uses unreasonable or discriminatory acts, policies, and practices, that provide unfair advantages and discriminate against U.S. commerce, as well as disrupting supply chains.

The USTR’s inter-agency Section 301 Committee will hold a public hearing on May 29, 2024; and are seeking public comments (due by May 22, 2024) in connection with this investigation.
