The Government of Canada continues with findings on Copper Pipe Fittings

On November 28, 2016, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) issued an order to advise that in the matter of an expiry review, the findings are continuing without amendment concerning the dumping of copper pipe fittings originating in or exported from the United States of America, the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China, and the subsidizing of such goods originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China

Further to this, the CITT advised that the order will continue, with amendment to the exclusions of certain copper pipe fittings originating in or exported from the Republic of Korea, the People’s Republic of China and the USA.  Also excluded from the CITT order are copper-iron high-pressure alloy fittings manufactured with UNS C19400 grade copper alloy and with safe working pressure up to 1,740 psi.

The subject goods are described as solder joint pressure pipe fittings and solder joint drainage, waste and vent pipe fittings, made of cast copper alloy, wrought copper alloy or wrought copper, for use in heating, plumbing, air conditioning and refrigeration applications (copper pipe fittings).

The subject goods are normally classified under the following Harmonized System classification numbers:

7412.10.00.11, 7412.10.00.19, 7412.10.00.90, 7412.20.00.11, 7412.20.00.12, 7412.20.00.19, 7412.20.00.90.

Please note that these classification numbers are may apply to goods which are not subject to SIMA measures based on the description above or they may change due to amendments to the Customs Tariff. Refer to the product definition for the authoritative details regarding the subject goods.
