President Biden issued a Proclamation revoking an exclusion for aluminum from the United Arab Emirates (AE), which was to take effect on February 3, 2021.
The revoked Proclamation, issued under the previous administration, was to exclude United Arab Emirates origin aluminum from ten percent Section 232 additional duties using an absolute quota system and covered wrought aluminum of Harmonized Tariff Schedule number (HTS) Headings 7604-7609, and castings and forging of HTS Subheading 7616.99.51; as well as unwrought aluminum of HTS Subheading 7601.10 and 7601.20.
General Approved Exclusions (GAEs), are still available.
