Good News for U.S. Importers: China Section 301 COVID-Related Exclusions Extended

U.S. importers of Chinese origin goods should be aware that the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has extended Section 301 exclusions on COVID-19 related goods.  These extensions are welcome news for importers -it means they save money.

If the exclusions hadn’t been extended, they would pay additional duties of 7.5% to 25%.

The USTR extended Section 301 exclusions on Chinese origin COVID-related products that were due to expire on September 30th, 2021.

They now expire at 11:59 pm on November 14th, 2021, and will continue to use the same exclusion Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS):

  • Exclusions for List 1 – HTS 9903.88.62
  • Exclusions for List 2 – HTS 9903.88.63
  • Exclusions for List 3 – HTS 9903.88.64
  • Exclusions for List 4A – HTS 9903.88.65

A list of product covered may be found in our previous COVID exclusion update on China Section 301.
