Decommissioning of Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) Extended

May 20, 2020 – Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CBSA and Statistics Canada have agreed to extend the decommissioning of the Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) system and the onboarding window to register with CERS to September 30, 2020 for exceptional cases where the client cannot meet the original June 30, 2020 timeline. Summary reports however must be submitted via the CERS portal as of June 30, 2020.

The Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) system is being replaced by the Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS). CERS is a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) developed web-based, self-service portal enabling exporters to continue to submit electronic export declarations (including bulk load and summary reporting) to the CBSA.

CBSA Customs Notice CN 19-14 is updated to reflect the change.
