Toronto-area truckers to strike

The Container Trucking Association of Ontario (CTAO) has announced its intention to initiate a strike action as of Tuesday, September 8, 2015.

The CTAO is a not-for-profit organization that represents independent contractors, small business owners and container truck drivers in the Greater Toronto Area. The association says the strike comes as a response to container transport companies’ lack of initiative in improving rates, workers  hours and terminal waiting times.

The CTAO says that all members will discontinue services on Tuesday at 12:01 a.m. and members will remain on strike until the situation improves.
