Temporary changes to import requirements of certain poultry products from France

The Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has given notice that as of October 1, 2023, it will be temporarily suspending the imports of all live poultry, hatching eggs, and raw fresh/frozen poultry products originating from France.

This, due to the potential risk from France’s vaccination strategy for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI).

More information can be found in CFIA’s Notice to Industry.

Questions about these changes can be directed to CFIA’s Animal Products and By-products Import inbox at APABPImport@inspection.gc.ca.
