Mexican government publishes agreement modifying products under Health Secretariat regulation

On December 28th, 2021, the Secretariat of the Economy published a draft agreement modifying the miscellaneous products under the regulation of the Health Secretariat. The draft agreement appeared on the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement (CONAMER)’s website. This news is important because it sets out new rules for businesses specializing in these products.

Modifications to this agreement allow the Federal Commission for the Protection of Sanitary Risks to control and monitor the use of such substances such as Papantla vanilla, N-Phenyl-4-piperidinamine (4-AP), N-Phenyl-4-piperidinamine dihydrochloride (4-AP), and Propionic anhydride and Propionyl chloride). These materials are included on a previous list of products subject to import and export authorization by the Health Secretariat.

For further reference, please review the draft published on CONAMER’s website.
