The Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of International Trade, announced changes to Canada’s economic sanctions against Iran under the Special Economic Measures Act and the United Nations Act.
Sanctions under the Regulations Implementing the United Nations Resolutions on Iran were modified on February 5, 2016.

Canada will continue to maintain tight controls on exports to Iran of goods and technologies which are considered sensitive from a national and international security perspective.
Exporter’s application for export permits for all items listed on the Export Control List will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
