CBP-El Paso announces change to Hazardous Materials documents submission

US Customs & Border Protection (CBP) in El Paso, Texas, has issued a notice advising the trade community and brokers of a change in procedures for Hazardous Materials (HazMat) paperwork submissions to CBP-El Paso.

The HazMat email box, elpasohazmat@cbp.dhs.gov, will be discontinued as of June 28, 2017.  Emails sent to this email address after June 28th will receive an automatic reply stating the email box is no longer valid.

Effective immediately, please submit all HazMat paperwork using the DIS function, either through ACE or via the DIS email box, docs@cbp.dhs.gov.

The following link is the DIS Implementation Guide for directions on the proper formats for submitting forms through email: https://www.cbp.gov/document/forms/dis-implementation-guide

For any entries that are unable to have the required documents uploaded through DIS, it will be required to have the document packet delivered to Ysleta Cargo, HazMat Section.

This notice and the above instructions are valid for importations and exports.

Please forward any concerns to Chief Tim Lund @ Timothy.Lund@cbp.dhs.gov.
