USTR Extends China Section 301 Exclusions Expiring September 20, 2020

The U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) extended some List 1 and List 2 exclusions from Section 301 additional duties for Chinese origin products that were due to expire on September 20, 2020. The extended ones are good for the remainder of 2020.

Exclusions for List 1, Tranche 7 used Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) 9903.88.14 when entered July 6, 2018 through September 19, 2020. Out of the 310 exclusions granted, sixty-two were extended, and 244 were expired, with 4 deleted.  Those extended will use exclusion HTS 9903.88.58, and those expired will be subject to 25 percent additional duties using HTS 9903.88.01.

Exclusions for List 2, Tranche 2 used HTS 9903.88.17 when entered August 23, 2019 through September 19, 2020. Out of the 89 exclusions granted, seventeen were extended, and 69 were expired, with 3 deleted. Those extended will use exclusion HTS 9903.88.59, and those expired will be subject to 25 percent additional duties using HTS 9903.88.02.
