On February 5, 2026, the Government of Canada released PC 2026-106, Order Amending the United States Surtax Remission Order (2025). The Order introduces amendments to Schedules 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4.1 and is scheduled for publication in the Canada Gazette, Part II, on February 25, 2026.
The most significant revisions are found in Schedule 2, which include the addition of 80 tariff classification numbers and 28 amendments to goods descriptions. These changes primarily affect certain flat-rolled products in coils of carbon steel, non-alloy steel, and stainless steel, generally within HS headings 7208 through 7225.
Additional amendments impact select steel bars, tubes, pipes, railway track materials, as well as certain aluminum profiles, plates, sheets, and strips.
