On January 14, 2026, Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) made a finding of injury in
regards to the dumping and subsidizing of certain steel strapping originating in or exported from China and Turkey. This follows the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) Final Determination made on December 15, 2025.
As a result of the finding, the final anti-dumping and countervailing rates are payable on imports of subject goods released from CBSA on or after January 14, 2026.
Importers are reminded that, if they use the services of a customs broker to clear their imports, the brokerage firm should be advised whether the goods are subject to anti-dumping and countervailing duties and be provided with sufficient information necessary to accurately assess SIMA if applicable.
