On December 2, 2025, the Government of Canada commenced an expiry review of the oil country tubular goods 2 Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) case currently in force.
Expiry reviews are conducted jointly by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) to determine whether a SIMA measure will be rescinded after five years or continued for another five years. These reviews must be initiated before the scheduled expiry date of the SIMA case.
