CBSA concludes SIMA re-investigation of certain grinding media from India

Re-investigations are conducted by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to update values, establish normal values for new products or models subject to the measures in force, and establish normal values for new co-operative exporters.

On March 31, 2023, the CBSA concluded a re-investigation of the Grinding Media SIMA case currently in force.

During the investigation, CBSA sent out requests for information (RFI) to all known importers, exporters, producers and vendors to solicit information on the costs and selling prices of subject goods. A complete response to an RFI was received by AIA Engineering Ltd. (AIA), as such normal values have been issued to this exporter.

Imports of products exported to Canada by AIA Engineering will not be subject to anti-dumping duties as long as they are sold to Canada at or above the normal value issued by CBSA.

Complete details regarding the conclusion of the re-investigation are available here.

Importers are remined that, if using the services of a customs broker to clear their importations, the brokerage firm should be advised that the goods are or are not subject to anti-dumping and countervailing duties and be provided with sufficient information necessary to clear the shipments.
