Secretariat of Economy publishes resolution on imports of dried chili peppers (paprika) originating in the Republic of Peru

On April 5th, the Secretariat of Economy (SE), published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOF), the following resolution:

  • The Third and Eighth Points of the Agreement establishing the quota and allocation mechanism to import dried chili peppers (paprika) originating from the Republic of Peru are repealed, which refer to the mechanism through which the quota will be assigned, to read as follows:
  • The import quota referred to in this Agreement will be assigned under the public bidding mechanism.
  • Individuals and legal entities established in the United Mexican States who meet the requirements set forth in the public bidding rules issued for such purposes by the General Directorate of Trade Facilitation and Foreign Trade (DGFCCE) may participate in the public bidding mechanism of the Secretariat of Economy.

The public bidding rules will be published on the last Thursday of October of each year and the public bidding event will be held on the last Thursday of November of each year.
