Secretariat of Economy Mexico publishes correlation tables between the tariff code of the Tariff of the General Import and Export Tax Law (LIGIE) 2012 and 2020

On November 18th, the Secretariat of Economy (SE) published the following agreement in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), through which the Correlation Tables between the tariff codes in force until December 27, 2020 and those in force as of December 28, 2020 are disclosed.

The foregoing in order to facilitate the application of the tariff nomenclature and be in accordance with the 3 main axes of the Law of General Import and Export Taxes:

  1. Implementation of the Sixth Amendment to the Harmonized System.
  2. Updating of obsolete tariff items with little or no trade and
  3. Process of compaction and splitting of tariff items.

Therefore, it is considered necessary to disclose in detail the correspondence between the tariff codes of the LIGIE that will be in force until December 27th, 2020 and those applicable as of December 28th, 2020, so that they can be correlated legal systems establishing various provisions on foreign trade instruments and programs.
