Provisional Duties Now Payable on Corrosion- Resistant Steel

March 26, 2020 – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), on March 20, 2020, issued a Notice of Preliminary Determinations to announce that Provisional duties are now payable on certain corrosion-resistant steel sheet originating in exported from Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam, released from Customs on or after March 20, 2020.

The detailed authoritative description as well as the applicable HS codes of the subject goods are provided in the CBSA Notice of Preliminary Determination.

Following CBSA’s Notice of Preliminary Determinations, on March 23, 2020 the CITT gave notice that they will conduct an inquiry to determine if the dumping and subsidizing of the above mentioned goods have caused injury to the Canadian domestic industry.
