Proposal to amend Canada’s Energy Efficiency Regulations to regulate Battery Chargers

Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) Office of Energy Efficiency is proposing to make changes (in Amendment 14) to Canada’s Energy Efficiency Regulations to include standards for battery chargers that are imported or shipped interprovincially for the purpose of sale or lease in Canada. Battery chargers are not currently a regulated product. Your comments and input on the proposed changes deadline is September 9, 2016.

The technical bulletin, Battery chargers – August 2016, describing the changes under consideration is available in French and English from our Amendment 14 website.

The proposed changes to the Regulations will be presented during a webinar to be hosted for stakeholders on August 24, 2016. Click for the Webinar details.
