Notices to Importers and Exporters for Tariff Preferential Levels (TPL) under CUSMA

June 19, 2020 – Global Affairs Canada issued notices to importers and exporters on the established administration of the Tariff Preferential Levels (TPL) under Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement CUSMA.

The Notices set out the administration of the Tariff Preferential Levels (TPL) and identify where import permits / certificates of eligibility are required.

In accordance with CUSMA, the Tariff Preferential Level year will normally extend from January 1 to December 31 inclusive. Upon entry into force of CUSMA on July 1, 2020, the Tariff Preferential Level year for implementation year only will extend from July 1 to December 31, 2020.  Tariff Preferential Level quantities for year 1 of CUSMA implementation are not pro-rated and the full quota quantities are accessible for imports and exports.
