New Section 232 Investigation Initiated

The Secretary of Commerce initiated a Section 232 investigation on imports of electrical transformers, transformer regulators, and articles to be incorporated into transformers (including laminations for stacked cores, stacked cores, and wound cores).

They will investigate whether products are being imported into the U.S. in such quantities, or under such circumstances, as to threaten to impair the national security of the U.S., with their findings reported to the President if impairment is found.

Commence is accepting comments on this proposed rule through June 9, 2020, in the Federal eRulemaking Portal using Docket BIS-2020-0015.
