Energy-using Products Import Requirements Updated List of Products

As of April 30, 2019, Amendment 14 to Energy Efficiency Regulations came into effect and adds import reporting requirements for the following new products: battery chargers, commercial pre-rinse spray valves, metal halide lamp ballasts, ceiling fan light kits, microwave-ovens, small electric motors, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, and whole-home dehumidifiers.

Customs D- Memorandum D19-6-3 Importation of Energy-Using Products was updated with the new energy-using products subject to the requirements.

The import requirements apply to the following regulated energy-using products:

All regulated energy-using products and the product-specific pages in the Guide to the Regulations provide the energy efficiency standards and the reporting template.
