Customs eliminated technology contracts; surveillance will be with canine pairs

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported that security at Mexican customs will be strengthened with canine binomials, after the elimination of million-dollar contracts that provided the government with technology to stop smuggling and the entry of drugs into the country.

This morning from the National Palace, the president said that despite no longer using this technology, there are currently more seizures because the dogs are giving good results.

According to the President, yesterday he had a meeting with personnel from the Tax Administration and Customs Service, where the results of the work were announced.

The president affirmed that the good results are due to the fact that the dogs have no interests, “they said something that is very strong, very hard, very stark. They said is that they have no interests, they do not, they release it and there is something strange here, but look at the most sophisticated technology, very expensive to these faithful, extraordinary dogs. It has to do with honesty, that’s why now there are more seizures ”.

He indicated that the country’s customs were taken and the most desired by organized crime are those of the ports of Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas as well as those of Tamaulipas and Baja California.

For this reason, he mentioned that his administration will continue to clean up the federal government and assured that there is no type of agreement with foreign agencies.
