On October 5th, 2020, the Secretariat of Economy (SE) published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), the following information:
The investigation procedure in the matter of unfair international trade practices is declared closed, in its modality of price discrimination and a final compensatory quota of 21% is imposed on imports of wind towers originating in China, regardless of the country of origin, that enter through the tariff section 8502.31.01 of the Rate of the General Import and Export Tax Law (TIGIE), or any other.
The compensatory fee will be applied on the customs value declared in the corresponding petition. Importers who, according to this Resolution, must pay the final compensatory fee, will not be obliged to pay it if they prove that the country of origin of the merchandise is different from China.
