The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), on May 15, 2026, determined that there is evidence that the dumping and of certain unarmoured building cables, originating in and exported from the People’s Republic of China have caused injury or retardation or are threatening to cause injury.
This preliminary determination follows the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) investigation initiated on March 16, 2026, into the alleged injurious dumping of the above-mentioned goods. The CBSA’s preliminary determination is expected within 30 days of this CITT decision. Should the CBSA make a determination of injury, provisional SIMA duties will become payable on subject goods at that time.
