CITT determines threat of injury on certain mattresses from China

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), on April 25, 2022, determined that there is evidence that the dumping and subsidizing of certain mattresses originating in or exported from China has caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to the Canadian domestic industry.

This preliminary injury determination by the CITT follows the investigation initiated by the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) on February 24, 2022, into the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of the above-mentioned goods. The CBSA’s preliminary determination is expected within 30 days of this CITT decision. Should the CBSA make a determination of injury at that time, provisional SIMA duties will become payable on subject goods.
