CFIA Consultations on Administrative Monetary Penalties Policy

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issues Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPs) under the Agriculture and Agri-Food Administrative Monetary Penalties Act for contraventions of the Canada Agricultural Products Act, the Farm Debt Mediation Act, the Feeds Act, the Fertilizers Act, the Health of Animals Act, the Meat Inspection Act, the Pest Control Products Act, the Plant Protection Act, and the Seeds Act.

CFIA is conducting consultations on its draft Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPs) Policy. The new policy defines the CFIA’s approach to using AMPs consistently for violations. Comments and feedback deadline is December 18, 2016.
