On May 25, 2026, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made a preliminary determination of dumping and subsidizing with respect to imports of certain forged grinding media originating in or exported from China.
As a result of the determination, provisional SIMA duties are now payable on imports of subject goods that were released on or after May 25, 2026.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will now initiate an inquiry to determine whether the dumping of the subject goods have caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to domestic producers. A decision by CITT is expected on September 22, 2026.
