CBSA now assessing SIMA duties on certain wind towers and sections from China

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), on November 17, 2023, made a finding of Injury in

regards to the dumping and subsidizing of certain wind towers and their sections from China.

As a result of the finding, the provisional period is now over, and the final anti-dumping and countervailing rates are payable on imports of subject goods released from CBSA on or after November 17, 2023.

This follows the CBSA’s Final Determination made on October 18, 2023.

Importers are reminded that, if using the services of a customs broker to clear their importations, the brokerage firm should be advised whether or not the goods are subject to anti-dumping and countervailing duties, and be provided with sufficient information necessary to accurately assess SIMA if applicable
