CBSA Initiates Re-investigation Concerning Liquid Dielectric Transformers

Effective February 15, 2017, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated a re-investigation of the normal values and export prices of liquid dielectric transformers originating in or exported from the Republic of Korea (Korea)

The subject goods are described as liquid dielectric transformers having a top power handling capacity equal to or exceeding 60,000 kilovolt amperes (60 megavolt amperes), whether assembled or unassembled, complete or incomplete.

The liquid dielectric transformers are usually classified under Harmonized System (HS) classification number 8504.23.00.00.
Unassembled or incomplete liquid dielectric transformers may also be classified under the HS classification numbers 8504.90.90.10, 8504.90.90.82, 8504.90.90.90.

It is anticipated that this re-investigation will be concluded by July 5, 2017. A re-investigation schedule is available.

Exporters wishing to participate in this re-investigation are required to provide a complete and accurate response to the CBSA’s dumping Request for Information (RFI) by March 24, 2017.

Responses to the importer RFI are due by March 8, 2017.
Currently, the following Exporters have received normal values:

  • Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.
  • Hyosung Corporation
