CBSA denies normal value request for Fastener exporter in Taiwan

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), on October 12, 2023, concluded a normal value and export price review of Industry Building Hardware Co. (IBH), located in Taiwan, an exporter of products subject to the Fasteners SIMA case. As a result of the review, the CBSA has determined that the information provided by IBH was insufficient for the purposes of this review, as such normal values have not been issued. Subject goods imported from this exporter will be subject to the “all other exporters” anti-dumping duty rate of 170%.

Details regarding the conclusion are available here.

Importers are reminded that, if using the services of a customs broker to clear their importations, the brokerage firm should be advised whether or not the goods are subject to anti-dumping and countervailing duties, and be provided with sufficient information necessary to accurately assess SIMA if applicable.
