CBSA conclusion of re-investigation of the anti-dumping/countervailing of certain copper pipe fittings

Effective February 5, 2016, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) concluded their re-investigation of the normal values and export prices of certain copper pipe fittings originating in or exported from the United States of America, the Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China (China) and amounts of subsidy of certain copper pipe fittings originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China).

The subject goods are described as solder joint pressure pipe fittings and solder joint DWV pipe fittings, made of cast copper alloy, wrought copper alloy or wrought copper, for use in heating, plumbing and ACR applications.

The subject goods are generally classified under the following 10-digit Harmonized System (HS) classification numbers: 7412.10.00.11, 7412.10.00.19, 7412.10.00.90, 7412.20.00.11, 7412.20.00.12, 7412.20.00.19, 7412.20.00.90.

The following Exporters have received normal values:

  • Elkhart Products Corporation – United States
  • Mueller Industries Inc. – United States
  • Nibco Inc. – United States
  • Jungwoo Metal Ind. Co., Ltd. – Republic of Korea
  • Zhuji City Howhi Air Conditioners Made Co., Ltd. – People’s Republic of China

Importers are advised to review their importations to ensure they are correctly reporting SIMA subsequent to the re-investigation.
