Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) publishes guidance document on Import and Export

Following a period of public consultation, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has published regulatory document REGDOC-2.13.2, Import and Export.

Guidance document REGDOC-2.13.2 sets out the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) guidance for current and prospective licensees who intend to import or export nuclear and nuclear-related dual-use items (also known as controlled nuclear substances, equipment and information). This document also provides information about the CNSC’s import and export control program with respect to license applications, the license evaluation process and compliance with regulatory requirements.

This document also identifies a change to how Canada’s nuclear non-proliferation policy applies to evaluating export applications for foreign-origin uranium.
