Canada-Korea Certificate of Origin instructions now available

The Canada–Korea Certificate of Origin and the instructions for completing are available in English and Korean,
and will be available soon in French on the Canada Border Services Agency website.

The required proof of origin is the Canada–Korea Certificate of Origin; in order to claim the preferential tariff treatment provided under the Canada-Korea FTA, importers must have in their possession the Canada–Korea Certificate of Origin completed by the exporter in Korea.

The Canada-Korea FTA implementation is effective January 1, 2015 and included in the 2015 Customs Tariff. The Korea Tariff (KRT) is Code 30. Goods may be shipped from Korea, with or without transshipment, to Canada to be eligible for the KRT rate of duty.

Information regarding the CKFTA and the text of the agreement can be found on the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada web site

The 2015 Customs Tariff and tariff duty rates can also be found on the CBSA web site.
