Aluminum & Steel Section 232 Expands to Include Nails, Stranded Wire and Vehicle Stampings

January 29, 2020 -The President issued a Proclamation 9980 adjusting Section 232 duties to include new products, when entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after February 8, 2020.

Section 232 will now include:

For Aluminum 10% Duty,      Using HTS 9903.85.03
HTS Subheading Description
7614.10.50 Stranded wire, cables, plaited bands, slings as similar articles of aluminum, and not with steel core, not electrical insulated, not comprising electrical conductors, and not fitted with fittings or made up into articles

Countries of origin Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Argentina are not subject to these new duties.  In addition, for steel, Brazil and South Korea are also not subject.
