ACE e-Manifest: CBP Issues Guidance for using the ACE Portal to file a Truck manifest

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued CSMS 15-000839, providing Guidance for using the ACE Portal to file a Truck manifest.

CBP advises: For truck carriers using the ACE Portal to file a manifest, the manifest should be filed with the in-transit indicator set to “No”. The functionality has not been used in the past and therefore, if previously indicated “Yes,” it will have no impact.

CBP will be leveraging the in-transit manifest indicator for future capabilities and now needs it to be set to “No” in order to file the manifest. As long as the indicator is set to “No”, this will not limit any functionality for filing a manifest including manifests with an in-bond.
