After more than 25 years as a customs practitioner, his expertise includes supply-chain optimization, compliance procedures, duty deferral and drawbacks. He is also highly knowledgeable in valuation regulations and customs recourse processes.
Michael’s expert knowledge and direction has achieved results for clients that include saving them significant amounts of money in penalties and duties by merging business plans with Customs rules, regulations and administrative policies.
Michael regularly conducts seminars on various topics focusing on customs compliance, for Canadian and Non-Resident Importers. He has given several presentations at the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers and presented to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Michael is based out of Montreal, Quebec.
Kim provides guidance on customs regulations and best practices, and helps clients identify potential risks and financial recovery opportunities, and resolve compliance issues.
Kim joined Livingston in July 2000 as a Release Classification Analyst, progressing to Client Service Manager in 2013, and Consultant in 2023.
Kim specializes in duty drawback, duty recovery, trade compliance verifications, post-entry audits, Bill S-211 (Forced Labour) and CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management initiative (CARM).
Kim is a graduate of the Customs Administration program at Sir Sandford Fleming College and holds a CBSA Professional Designation and a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) Designation.
