Renewable diesel SIMA investigation terminated

On May 5, 2025, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), advised that it has terminated the preliminary SIMA inquiry into the possible dumping and subsidizing of certain renewable diesel originating or exported from the United States.

The CITT concluded that the evidence does not disclose a reasonable indication that the dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods have caused injury or retardation or are threatening to cause injury to Canadian manufacturers.

This inquiry followed the Canada Border Services Agencies (CBSA) notice on March 6, 2025, of their investigations into the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of the subject goods.

Details of the CITT finding are available here.

Refer to Notice of initiation of investigations: Renewable Diesel for information on the CBSA’s investigation.
