USDA/APHIS Updates Agriculture Quarantine Inspection (AQI) FAQ

Since the new Agriculture Quarantine Inspection (AQI) treatment monitoring user fee went into effect in December 2015, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has received many questions about what the fee covers and how to pay it.

APHIS recently updated its treatment monitoring user fee questions and answers. The document answers frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the fee, how it should be applied, and when and how to pay it. The updated document is now available on the APHIS Web site:

APHIS charges user fees to recover the costs of providing AQI services at U.S. ports of entry. Effective December 28, 2015, APHIS adjusted the fees it charges to better align them with the costs of delivering AQI services.
