CFIA Consultations on Livestock Traceability

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada are consulting with stakeholders on proposed amendments to the Health of Animals Regulations. The proposed amendments will enhance existing livestock traceability requirements in Canada. Livestock traceability systems are based on three basic elements: animal identification; premises identification; and animal movement.

For more information, visit CFIA’s website, here.

Provide your comment and input on a consultation document outlining the proposed amendments. To request a copy of the consultation document, please email trace@inspection.gc.ca. Feedback is open for comment until June 26, 2015.

Web presentations are also being held on the proposed regulatory amendments. Register for the month of May webinars here.
