Government of Canada initiates expiry review on Pup Joints

On August 2, 2016, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) advised that they have initiated an expiry review concerning the dumping and subsidizing of oil country tubular goods pup joints originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China,

Concurrently, on August 3, 2016, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an investigation to determine whether the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidization of the subject goods.

The subject goods are described as oil country tubular goods pup joints, made of carbon or alloy steel, welded or seamless, heat-treated or not heat treated, regardless of end finish, having an outside diameter from 2 3/8 inches to 4 1/2 inches (60.3 mm to 114.3 mm), in all grades, in lengths from 2 feet to 12 feet (61 cm to 366 cm).  These goods are normally classified under the following Harmonized System classification numbers: 7304.29.00.51, 7304.29.00.59, 7304.29.00.61, 7304.29.00.69, 7304.29.00.71, 7304.29.00.79.

Any firm wishing to participate in the CITT proceedings must file a notice of participation with the Tribunal on or before December 15, 2016.  Written submissions & requests for information should be sent to:
