CBSA Expiry Review Decision and Statement of Reasons on Liquid Dielectric Transformers

On January 5, 2018 CBSA provided a Statement of Reasons concerning its December 22, 2017 expiry review decision of Certain Liquid Dielectric Transformers from Korea.

The CBSA expiry review was completed and a determination found that the expiry of the order concerning the dumping of certain liquid dielectric transformers is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods to Canada. The CITT’s original finding made November 20, 2012 will continue without amendment.

The subject goods are described as liquid dielectric transformers having a top power handling capacity equal to or exceeding 60,000 kilovolt amperes (60 megavolt amperes), whether assembled or unassembled, complete or incomplete.

The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its order is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and has announced that it will issue its decision no later than May 31, 2018.

These goods are normally imported under HS classification number 8504.23.00.00 which represents liquid dielectric transformers, having a power handling capacity exceeding 10,000 kVA.

Unassembled or incomplete subject goods and parts may also be imported under HS classification numbers 8504.90.90.10, 8504.90.90.82, or 8504.90.90.90.

These HS codes are provided for convenience of reference only. Refer to the product definition for authoritative details regarding the subject goods.
